Maung Maung Tinn - Water Colour Paintings - 33

They always remember the day of his landmine injury

His wife, then eight months pregnant, carrying him back to the village to find help. They used to hope for him to be a strong farmer, but now he cannot be that. Now they are afraid when they go to plant their rice or travel to see their family. They are exhausted from listening for the sound of gunfire, running from battles and seeing the horrors of war. When soldiers leave the battle area, they do not always take away the mines they have planted. War and landmines disable innocent people. No humanitarian mine clearance has taken place in their country. By MMT
