Maung Maung Tinn - Water Colour Paintings - 12

Please, wait for him to grow up

It is very rare to find good in war. Most of the time, war is full of bad things. War causes destruction. War causes disappearance. War causes many complications. Because of war, adults suffer and many children are innocent victims. There are 7,000 child soldiers in Burma. Everyone has a right to choose what they want to be in the future: farmer, musician, physician, teacher or soldier... But they should decide that when they are mature, or at least 18 years old. Normally, a child’s mind is still immature. It is easily influenced and sensitive. It is not yet ready to correctly decide between good and bad. Bad things should not be forced into a child’s mind. In the world there are so many things which can help people and are better than fighting. Children are young and they are not yet strong enough to face the demands of training and battle. Most parents still think of their child as a school boy, even when the boy has a gun. Nobody knows how many mothers suffer and die in the civil war because their children are forced into the army. Many complain quietly, as the breeze, but they are too weak to shout against the storm. There are many crying voices, but they are lost in the wind. By MMT
